I guess I'm going to China
- to visit my Granddad on his deathbed. The emphysema's finally taking its toll. We're leaving on New Year's Day and getting back on the 9th. It was supposed to be just my dad going back to Beijing, but I found out yesterday that my Gfather's on the brink of death so I begged my parents to let me go. I know it'd mean a lot to him, too, bc I'm his oldest [favorite] grandchild, we used to be really close when I lived in Beijing.
I'm a little nervous about the trip - I haven't been back since winter '03, a lot has changed since then and my Chinese language skills are at an all-time embarrassing low. I really hate that feeling, being in my other home country that shouldn't feel foreign but does anyway.
I'm sorry, I'm too sad to think of anything entertaining to contribute to the blog.
I'm really very sorry Tiffany. I was just about to post something else when I saw your post, but I think I'm gonna hold that now for a while.
I usually don't know what to say in this kind of situations but I can relate, I also lost my granddad this year in a similar situation.
It is a difficult time but things will get better though it doesn't feel that way at the time.
And remember I'm always here if you need anything.
im so sorry darling.
love you.

Babygirl, you know I'm here if you need anything. Just think about how wonderful it will be to get to see him again. Your Chinese will come back. Thats how language works. It'll come back as soon as others are using it around you and when its all around you. I love you, sweet girl. We all love you so much. Let us know if there's anything we can do. Stay strong TiShi. We'll all be back together soon.
Everyone said everything I wanted to say. keep your head up, tish
I'm sending a million hugs and words of support to you for Christmas, take them to China with you. Your grandpa is lucky to have you with him at this time. Remember how you carry yourself. ^~
My phone is always on, and usually answered. Always if it's TiShi calling. Lots of love, Tishi. <3
